about

'Gezi Park' [2013]

Inspired by events after the occupation of Gezi Park (May 2013, Istanbul, Turkey) the composition provides a narrative that includes the sounds of clashes, spread through a social network.

Taksim Gezi Park is one of the few central Istanbul of green areas that should disappear within project from pedestrianization Taksim Square. The construction project involves the reconstruction of the barracks Taksim, a historic building demolished in 1940 to accommodate a shopping center.

Protests intensify as a result of the violence of the police charge to dislodge a group occupying the park. The protests have spread with anti-government claims. May 31, 2013, police represses the 10,000 demonstrators with tear gas. At least 60 people were arrested and hundreds were injured.
